Deep blue seas, turquoise lagoons and white beaches are the symbols of the Maldives, a truly unique chain of islands isolated in the balmy Indian Ocean. There is potential to dive throughout the Maldivian atolls, but we focus only on those areas with excetional diving. Atolls visited include the Central atolls (Male, Ari, Rasdhoo), the Northern atolls (Raa, Baa, Noonu, Lhaviyani) and the Southern atolls (Felidhoo, Meemu, Thaa, Laamu, Huvadhoo, Fuvahmulah, Addu). The Southern atolls are mostly known for their channel dives to see lots of sharks, including Whale Sharks, Hammerheads, Silvertips, Silkies, Tiger Sharks and Grey Reef Sharks.
This is particularly true for trips that venture to the ‘Far South’ atolls of Huvadhoo, Fuvahmulah and Addu. Fuvahmulah atoll (a.k.a. Foammulah atoll) has been identified as a nursery for Tiger Sharks and these sharks are now regularly spotted around Fuvahmulah. There are two ways to explore the Maldives, some prefer the relaxation of diving from one of the Maldives stunning resorts, whilst others prefer the adventure and possibilities offered by a liveaboard. We cater for both of these options using the Maldives best liveaboards and carefully selected resorts with excellent dive centres.
