Murex Bangka Resort offers 2 detached and 1 duplex style Premium Oceanfront Cottages which are positioned close to the ocean and their private white sand beach. These tastefully appointed and generously proportioned air-conditioned rooms offer comfortable indoor living and large verandas with outdoor seating. Double and twin bed sleeping configurations are available and all Premium Oceanfront Cottages feature large en-suite bathrooms with twin basins. For families and groups of friends, a duplex option is available which features two cottages adjoined by a shared common room – making them ideal for families and groups who prefer to stay closer together. Detached Premium Oceanfront Cottages have an extra single bed that are perfect for relaxing after a day of diving or exploring. It may also easily be converted to an additional comfortable bed for extra guests. Accommodation in all Premium Oceanfront Cottages offers hot water showers and air conditioning to ensure a comfortable night’s sleep. Premium Hillside Cottages
Murex Bangka Resort offers six luxury Premium Hillside Cottages which are strategically located to give refreshing sea breezes and stunning views over the ocean and lush tree canopy below. These tastefully appointed, air-conditioned rooms offer comfortable indoor living and large verandas with built-in day beds. Double and twin bed sleeping configurations are available and all Premium Hillside Cottages feature large en suite bathrooms. For families and groups of friends, semi-detached options are available, allowing you to stay closer together. Accommodation in the Premium Hillside Cottages offers hot water showers and air conditioning to ensure a comfortable night’s sleep. Electricity operates in the Premium Hillside Cottages 24 hours a day (reduced to one socket from 8am to 6pm and full power throughout the night).
Standard Oceanfront Cottages
Murex Bangka offers a choice of charming and comfortable, traditionally styled timber bungalows as well as larger duplex rooms, which have adjoining doors and are perfect for families. All rooms are located on the seafront with stunning views. Because the Standard Oceanfront Cottages are on the water’s edge, there are wonderful sea breezes. These rooms offer hot water showers and air conditioning to ensure a comfortable night’s sleep. Electricity operates in the Standard Oceanfront Cottages 24 hours a day.
Three plentiful buffet meals a day are served in the main beachfront restaurant which features an open-air terrace and beach service for those who prefer dining al fresco. Cuisine is varied and combines a tantalizing mix of International and Asian flavors using fresh local ingredients.
Murex Bangka’s dive centre is at the heart of the resort. Here you will find separate freshwater wash tanks for gear and cameras, outdoor drying space and individual gear lockers in the dive centre’s covered gear area. Murex Bangka aim to go out for a two dive trip each morning at around 8.15am (times do vary) from the beach in front of the resort, returning to the resort for lunch. The afternoon dive heads out at around 2.30pm for a third dive. Night dives depart at around 6.30pm and blackwater dives at around 7pm. Times depend on the stage of the lunar cycle. The resort’s spacious and comfortable dive boats have individual tank holders for each diver, access to the bow and roof, as well as shaded areas inside the cabin. All of the boats provide cushioned seating and dry storage areas for cameras and personal belongings. You’ll have your own personal towel and fresh fruit, drinking water, coffee and tea are offered on all boats. Each vessel is equipped with first aid kits and emergency oxygen. All boats also have on-board toilets and long boarding ladders. Murex Bangka’s camera room has individual preparation stations and ample plug sockets, so you’ll have everything you need, on hand.
Bangka Island is famously known for its spectacular soft corals that adorn every available surface. You’ll have the chance to dive on stunning sloping reefs, pinnacles, and sea mounts. Bangkas underwater topographies will leave you spellbound! Unique species include resident dugongs, dolphins and pilot whales, several species of pygmy seahorse, harlequin and tiger shrimps, blue-ring, mimic, reef and wonderpus octopus, ghost pipefish, Ambon scorpionfish, frogfishes, turtles, reef sharks, eagle rays, tuna, great barracuda, schooling fish including snappers, fusiliers, cardinals, and mackerel.

Murex Bangka House Reef
The resort’s beautiful House Reef is just a step off the beach and you’ll immediately be amazed by the bright colors, wealth of coral and abundant marine life. The House Reef is a sloping reef descending down to a white sand bottom. Along the slope there are diverse corals and beautiful bommies which are shrouded in schools of glass fish and hiding frogfish. The House Reef is home to numerous unique critters including pygmy seahorses, blue ribbon eels, mantis shrimps, cuttlefish, reef octopus, a variety of nudibranch species and look out for passing eagle rays.
